Firing range 900°–1080°C
Stir the engobe thoroughly before processing. To obtain an earthy matt surface, the engobe can be left unglazed after bisque firing. Or glaze over with a transparent glaze that fires to 1050°C.
Brush-on engobes are ideal for traditional engobe painting with a slip trailer or brush on to leather-hard or bisque fired clay. Botz engobes may also be single-fired and can be mixed with other products. For example, engobes can be mixed with glimmer and decorative underglaze colours.
Botz engobes are highly suited for marbling and feathering techniques. slightly dilute engobes with water and apply to leather-hard greenware.
Mix BOTZ 9450 (Transparent with black, fine dots - 30% engobe + 70% glaze. Apply three times, this makes an inexpensive coloured glaze with a satin finish and fine speckles.
Also, a suitable slip-casting medium for small objects. Fire at 1050° C, for a crack resistant finish.
