NORTHCOTE Midfire brush on glaze
This is not a stand alone glaze, as it is applied under another glaze to give the microcystalline appearance.
NOT suitable for use with Cadmium based stains such as reds, oranges or yellows
Firing range is cone 5 -6
Needs 2 to 3 layers
BRUSH ON GLAZE APPLICATION (glazes with the prefix BMG) Shake the glaze container vigorously to ensure that the glaze is fully mixed. Using a damp sponge clean the ware to ensure all dust is removed. Apply using a hake or similar brush that carries a generous load of glaze. Use long flowing brush strokes to apply. When the first coat has completely dried apply a second coat perpendicular to the first. Each person will brush on a different quantity of glaze, consequently, you should test on a piece of unimportant ware to ensure appropriate glaze application
