Bentonite is plastic colloidal volcanic clay that is used as an additive (up to 5%) to clay bodies to increase plasticity.
Bentonite can be added to glazes as a suspending agent (up to 2%). It has a high
shrinkage.
Premium Quality from USA. A highly plastic volcanic colloidal clay, used as a suspending agent in glazes (2-3%) but it must be added to the dry ingredients. When added to a clay body, it improves plasticity. It has a high shrinkage at stoneware temperatures. Also known as Fullers Earth in some glaze recipes.
